The destinations we feature are the ones we know best — not the edge of the map. Our collection grows the way good journeys do: a traveller asks about somewhere we have not planned before, we go and learn it properly, and it joins the list. A great deal of what we arrange today began as somebody else's curiosity.

Because arriving is rarely the part you remember. It tends to be the family who insist you stay for lunch, the cook who will not give up the recipe but will happily show you how, the wrong turn that turned out to be the whole point. Those moments are never printed in an itinerary, and they do not belong only to the famous places.

So we plan around them. Lately that has meant a Grand Prix or MotoGP weekend arranged down to the paddock, Rovos Rail across Southern Africa, a private yacht through the Maldives or along the Turkish coast, an expedition to Antarctica, Easter Island, the Comoros — and, for the genuinely curious, a legal, expert-led look at Cape Town's cannabis culture. The range keeps widening, because our travellers keep asking.

Anyone can collect destinations. What you carry home are the people, the meals and the stories you never planned for.
